Nakuru County Deputy governor Joseph Ruto has called on all communities in the county to live together in harmony.
Addressing journalists in Nakuru town on Wednesday, Ruto said that Nakuru is a metropolitan county comprising almost all 42 tribes in Kenya.
"Nakuru is a county where all tribes can call their home; and we as Nakuru residents have resolved to live in peace and harmony. No one should fight the other,” said Ruto.
This comes at a time when various leaders in the county and elsewhere continue to condemn last week's killings of three Utheri Wa Lari Society members following a land dispute.
The Deputy Governor noted that the main land problem in Nakuru County is lack of title deeds and assured the residents that the problem will soon be addressed and solved.
"Land surveying is with us, the only problem is registration and issuance of title deeds which is with the national government. A solution has to be found by the State and the county government,” added Ruto.
Land problem in Nakuru has seen endless protests in areas like Mwisho wa Lami, Chepakungu, Molo and Kayole to name but a few.
