Schools that registered good performance in the 2014 KCSE results released on Tuesday continued celebrating, with Nakuru County boasting of producing some of the best candidates.

Njoro based St. Francis Secondary School Lare registered an impressive mean score of 9.406 points compared to 9.07 in 2013.

The catholic ran School had Three A constant, sixteen A- (minus), 14 B+ (plus), sixteen B plain and seventeen B- (minus).

The School Principal Phillip Wanjohi said that the success came about as a result of hard-work, discipline and dedication from the students, teaching and non-teaching staff.

The school has recorded an upward trend since its foundation 29 years ago.

Jubilant students joined in song and dance to celebrate the 2014 results with some of the top performers among them Mugo Rukwaro who scored (A) saying that they were optimistic that they would perform well owing to their hard-work.

In Elburgon Secondary School - a District School that has for the third year beat old academic giants in Molo Constituency, the mood was similar as students celebrated the school’s 9.5 mean score.

The District School has registered a raise in mean score for the last five years. In 2013, it emerged the best District School Nationally.

Principal James Mungai said that the School has risen above a couple of challenges among them shortage of teachers and limited space but the same has not deterred them from working hard.

John kuria - a top performer in the School said that although he was constantly out of school due to lack of enough school fees, he managed to get grade A with 82 points.

He said that he aspires to pursue a degree in Architectural science at the Technical University of Mombasa.

Meanwhile, at Bridge Water Girls High School in Njoro sub-county, Everlyne Waithera who joined the school with the highest marks at 375 four years ago emerged the best students with grade A minus.

“I owe my success to God, my teachers and parents. I aspires to pursue Real Estate Management and also own a farm of my own,’’ said Waithera.

The School Principal Eunice Kihara said that she was impressed with the Schools’ performance compared to last year.
