Nakuru County Reproductive Health Network Chairman Samuel Migwi has said that the county government has launched a reproductive health and sexual education to the youth.
He said the education will help the vulnerable youth to face the challenges that are associated with their growth.
“The county government has seen the need to launch the drive to youth to enable them face the myriad challenges affecting them,” said Migwi.
Speaking in his office in Nakuru town on Wednesday, Migwi said that they have identified the sections that require attention like sexual and reproductive health rights to equip the youth with the necessary information.
“We seek to address the challenges that are affecting our youth in order to prepare them in the matters of sexual and reproductive health,” said Migwi.
He added that the drive comes at the right time when many girls are coerced into unwanted sex, therefore increasing the risks of unwanted pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Diseases.
“The drive intends to warn the youth especially the girls not to indulge into reckless sexual behavior during this festive season,” said Migwi.
He said that the future of the youth depends on how well they modeled on matters of reproductive health.
He urged the county government to increase its resources to address the health of youth and asked the youth to respond positively to the drive to make them acquire the information.
