The Nakuru County Assembly has unanimously voted to send home county secretary Joseph Motari.
This is after the special Ad Hoc Committee report on the recruitment of sub-county administrators, deputy sub-county administrators, Ward administrators and other cadres of staff in the county was tabled in the Nakuru County Assembly on Wednesday.
In the report, the Ad Hoc Committee recommended that Motari be excused from all his duties effective immediately adding that Motari had been seconded to the county government from a national office.
The Ad Hoc Committee also recommended that the Chief Officer of the Public Service Management Board Phillip Sigei be relieved of his duties immediately by the appointing authority, a recommendation the MCAs unanimously agreed with after the Nakuru County Speaker Susan Kihika directed the question to the members.
Others who were recommended to be relieved of their duties by the Ad Hoc Committee include The Public Service Board Chairperson Dr Waithanje Mutiti and the secretary of the County Public Service Board James Mbugua.
However, the motion to remove Mutiti and Mbugua was negated as it needed 75 % vote which was not achieved
In addition, the recommendation by the Ad Hoc Committee to remove 180 staff that were hired irregularly was also passed by the members of the Nakuru County Assembly.
