According to county deputy governor Joseph Ruto, the money will be used to drill boreholes in all the 11 sub counties.

Speaking to news reporters at his office on Monday, Ruto said that already Sh14 million has been used to dig boreholes in some parts of Nakuru town.

“Nakuru County is committed to ensure that residents have access to clean drinking and consumption water,” he said.

The deputy governor added that the county government is fast-tracking plans that will also see dams created for purposes of irrigation.

Ruto observed that the county has been facing serious water shortages in the past years noting that the same will change once all water projects are complete by the end of the next financial year.

The deputy governor said that they are partnering with the private sector in order to complete some of the projects that the county has started.

He observed that the county recognizes the role of public-partnerships in spearheading development agenda.

Ruto at the same time assured residents that the government is committed to provide quality services to residents.
