Nakuru Hospitals are now offering the free medical care for all the residents of Nakuru. Speaking to the press earlier today, Eddie Kimani who is the County Director of Communications told the press that the free medicine and services is part of the County Government of Nakuru Initiative.
"This is one of the initiative that was started almost 2 years ago. The county government usually buys medicine from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority and goes ahead and gives it to the patients for free", Kimani said.
At the Nakuru West Dispensary which is situated in Shabab Estate, patiends were very excited about the free medical care and free medicine. Rose Wangui who was a patient there today congratulated the County government for the initiative and wished that the services continue like that.
"I was very amazed when i was not asked even for a single penny. Even the normal consultation fee that we are usually asked for is free. All the pain killers and also the antibiotics are also given to patients for free", wangui said.
Eddie Kimani went ahead and urged all the people in the estates and villages and those who have sick people at homes to bring them to hospital so that they can be treated.
