Nakuru County government on Thursday unveiled a Diabetic Centre which is expected to host thousands of people suffering from the condition.

The county government partnered with Danish embassy amidst rising cases of people suffering from the condition.

Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto said the facility would serve other regions from the vast former Rift Valley province and its environs.

"This facility is not only a blessing to our county but also to our neighbours. we are expecting people from South Rift, Central Rift and Nyandarua County to benefit," he said.

County Executive in charge of Health Kabii Mungai urged locals to take advantage of the facility for regular checkups.

"It's time for you people to come for regular medical checkups. That is the only way we can be able to manage the condition," he said. 

Danish Ambassador to Kenya Mette Knudsen said the Danish government is keen to improve Health sector in the country.
