Nakuru County wage bill is expected to rise from Sh5.2 billion to over Sh6 billion if the County MCAs will approve the supplementary budget of Sh435 million.
The supplementary budget was proposed by the executive.
Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui is also seeking to employ nine additional sub-county administrative officers.
The new officers to be employed will get Sh5 million, three months to the end of the current financial year.
The governor suspended the previous sub-county administrative officers on grounds that they lacked skills to push his development agenda.
“We will not allow unqualified staff to derail development in the region. County employees should have relevant skills in their respective work stations to boost service delivery,” said Kinyanjui.
