The civil servants working under the Nakuru County governor are set to sign performance contracts in an effort to streamline all activities and services to the public.

While briefing the media, Governor Kinuthia Mbugua said that the contracts will be used as a tool to promote officers to higher positions in various departments within the county.

“We are going to streamline the way services are offered within Nakuru County by issuing performance contracts to the civil servants and also use them to set goals that need to be achieved within a certain period of time,” the governor said.

“This will help the county serve it is residents even better.”

Mbugua further said that his government will not tolerate any vices in the county offices which might interfere with the delivery of services, saying that his government will remain committed to upholding transparency, accountability as stipulated on their strategic plans.

He asked the county government to continue with their support towards the fight corruption that will see more developments within the county.

Mbugua applauded Nakuru MCAs for coming up with bills that will enable the county achieve all its pledges made during their campaigns.

“I can’t fail to recognise all the efforts exerted by the MCAs towards drafting bills that will see the county shift its growth from their initial stand before the expiry of our service term vested upon us by the residents,” Mbugua said.

He further asked the members of county assembly to speed up the process of village delineation bill drafting that will give the county government power to appoint village and ward administrators.
