Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament (MP) David Gikaria has been summoned to appear before a Nakuru court on July 4 for alleged malicious destruction of property.
Gikaria has been summoned alongside four others for allegedly maliciously destroying property worth Sh13 million on May 29 2016 belonging to ENSA Company Limited at Naka, Nakuru Town East sub-county.
The prosecution asked the court to summon the five accused who are out on bond saying that they absconded appearing in court intentionally.
“We want to ask the court to summon the five accused to answer charges they are facing to ensure that justice is done to the victims. Failing to appear before court when required for mention is absolute contempt of court,” said the Prosecutor, Hillary Sungoiyo.
The others are, MCA Moses Gichangi of Flamingo Ward, activist Bonface Mwangi , Francis Kihero and Elijah Kinyanjui.
They are facing charges of demolishing a perimeter wall on a parcel of land belonging to ENSA Limited which they allege is a field owned by Worker Primary School.
Chief Magistrate David Kimei ordered the four to appear on court in person on July 4 for more directions on their case.
