[Photo/Erick Korir]Nakuru Deputy Governor Erick Korir on Saturday attended the end of a two-week rigorous induction workshop for the Equity Bank's Paid Internship Programme beneficiaries at Jumuia Guest House, Nakuru.67 scholars from our region - 14 counties from the Rift Valley region - are part of 371 top students from the KCSE class of 2017 selected to join the programme this year across the county.The group has undergone training to impact skills in financial literacy, career development, teamwork, emotional intelligence, problem solving techniques among others.As a County, Korir said they strive to ensure learning institutions provide quality education and mentorship to the youth towards creating a generation of value-based leaders for a sustainable social and economic growth."It's only innovation and creativity that will help us achieve the Kenya Vision 2030 goals," said Korir, and further advised the scholars to pick courses that will help the country achieve the dream of an industrialised, clean and secure environment."The scholars will have a global exposure and it's my advise that they refrain from peer pressure and stay focused to their goals and give back to the community," he said.
