A section of youths from Kivumbini and Flamingo wards in Nakuru East constituency took to the streets Thursday morning over claims their names were missing from the NYS empowerment programme list.
The over 100 youths said it was saddening that their names were missing even after they said they had registered earlier for the programme which re-launched recently across the country.
"It is very sad that even after registering for the programme, someone went ahead to remove our names from the list of beneficiaries," said Anthony Nyagweka.
His sentiments were echoed by Jane Njokie who claimed there is a probability someone interfered with the listing exercise.
She added that it does not add up for names to miss out from the original list of beneficiaries of the program not unless there is someone tampering with it.
"The question we are asking is; how could someone tamper with the list and exclude our names?" she posed.
However, their grievances were later addressed by area MP David Gikaria who said the matter will be handled in a proper way, and that those who will be found culpable of interfering with the list will be dealt with accordingly.
He also appealed to youths and middle-aged women from the constituency and Nation at large to make good use of the NYS program.
The MP added that the programme is noble as it will empower youths and women economically through job creation.
