A family in Ruiyobei District in Nakuru County wants the police to trace their secondary school-going daughter suspected to have eloped with a teacher after it was discovered she was pregnant. The 15-year-old Lake Solai Secondary School Form Two girl was allegedly picked by a man who was her former primary school teacher at Ruiyobei Primary School on the night of May 21 this year.
According to her class teacher, Godwin Jumba, the girl felt sick towards the end of the first term and she was taken to Bahati District Hospital for examination where she tested positive for pregnancy
"After she fell ill the parents took her to Bahati District Hospital to where she tested positive for pregnancy. This shocked us, so much we interrogated her and she revealed that the man responsible for her pregnancy was a primary school teacher from Ruiyobei Primary School” said Mr. Jumba the father of the girl.
The parent added that they reported the matter to the Area Chief and later to the police and finally to the Children's Department in Nakuru but no action has since been taken since the culprit is a free man roaming in the area. The police through Rongai OCPD Joseph Mwamburi said they are still carrying out investigations on the saga before taking action.
The parents want the police to help in finding their daughter who has been missing from home since the month of May this year
