Farmers have been urged to embrace modern farming techniques to help achieve Kenya’s food security and other development goals.

Speaking in Nakuru during a workshop with farmers, Pole Mwadzombo from Amiran Kenya Ltd wsaid they have partnered with Nulandis to enlighten farmers in modern ways of farming.

Through the partnership, farmers will now be able to understand about the new products such as Ecoksil, Alexin, the microsol range and tiger trace all aimed at reducing the cost but increase production.

“We are trying to make life easy for the farmers. It is all about reducing costs and moving away from blanket farming to professional farming,” said Mwadzombo.

“The market is always becoming tighter and tighter with buyers of our flowers putting restrictions to famers as far as crop, pest and disease management is concerned yet they demand quality flowers and thus why we are moving from synthetic pesticides to biological ones such as Alexins to trigger immunity in the plants,” he added.

Amiran Kenya’s agricultural basket of products includes chemicals, fertilizers and seeds; large and small scale agro-projects using state of the art technology powering modern irrigation systems, climate control and water measuring technologies.

Amiran is also responsible for building and maintaining 90% of Kenya’s greenhouses.
