Speaking in Nakuru on Tuesday when he visited NakuruCounty Deputy Governor, the Permanent Secretary for Agriculture Andrew Tuimur said the national government is committed to promoting the sector.

“This region is one of the green fields earmarked. Dairy farming can do well and farmers should venture into it,” Tuimur said.

The PS promised that the national government will demonstrate its commitment by setting up more than three milk coolers in the 11 constituencies in the county. Tuimur said Nakuru has done a good job in promoting farming.

“We are impressed with the work the County is doing to uplift agriculture and benefits farmers around. The dairy training institute is one of its kind in the region and it’s very critical in the dairy industry and that is why we are partnering with Nakuru," said  Tuimur.

Nakuru deputy governor Joseph Ruto thanked the national government for its support to farmers.
