[Photo|Lee Kinyanjui]Nakuru County First Lady Elizabeth Kinyanjui held a meeting in Molo Sub-County on Thursday afternoon where she met parents and gaurdians of the children with special needs.The First Lady said the sensitization meeting would be followed by an assessment meeting of the children on Jan 16. Her Office will be working in tandem with department of Special needs. The department of Special Needs Education is under the Ministry of Education. It is mandated with the role of identifying children with various special education needs and disabilities. The personnel in the department carry out early Identification, Screening, Assessment, Placements and further referals for diagnosis of various disabilities. She reiterated that the main objective is to help parents with children with disabilities. "We will be taking their kids to school by paying the fees and sorting other financial needs," she said.
