Addressing the press in Naivasha town on Thursday, Wanyoike said the county as been given a lot of funds which should be used on development.

The MCA said that service delivery and improving the living standards of the people should be the first priority.

“The county government has been given huge funds which it should be used to promote development,” said Wanyoike.

Wanyoike asserted that despite the fact the county gets a lot of development funds many locals in Naivasha are living in poverty.

He noted that many residents cannot access basic services like water.

Wanyoike asked the county government to come up with a clear plan that will spearhead development.

He said that the plan will help the government to fast-track projects that will immediately benefit the people.

The MCA said that residents have a right to demand for services from the county since they are the taxpayers.

Mr Wanyoike at the same time asked the county leadership to exercise accountability and ensure all development funds are used wisely.

He said the MCAs will continue to oversight over crucial matters and will not hesitate to unravel cases of graft and misuse of government funds.
