Nakuru county Governor Kinuthia has assured residents of their security during and after the festive season.

Speaking during the Jamhuri day celebrations at Afraha Stadium, Mbugua said that the county and the national governments have taken steps to boost safety of residents.

Mbugua stated that more security patrols will be conducted across the county adding that the residents have nothing to fear.

“Nakuru people should not fear because their security has been taken care of, security personnel will remain vigilant especially this festive season,” said Mbugua.

The governor said that police more police personnel will be deployed in town sand estates to ensure people are protected.

Mbugua said that even as security personnel assure of safety, residents must work with them to make the exercise easier.

The Governor said that residents have a responsibility to ensure peace around them and report law breakers to the police. He said that the war against crime would be 100 per cent achieved if residents work with the police.

Meanwhile, Mbugua asked residents to take the opportunity and tour various sites across the country this festive season.

He said that there is need to encourage local tourism adding that the sector remains one of the high contributors to the economic development.

County commissioner Mohammed Birik said police will mount more security patrols across the country.

He asked residents to stop taking part in activities that will disrupt peace stating that police will not hesitate to arrest law breakers.
