[Photo|Lee Kinyanjui]Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui visited Itare Dam in Kiptororo ward in Kuresoi North Sub-county on Thursday.He said the familiarization tour was necessitated by the need to find a balance or a good interface between the local community, County government and National government.Itare Dam is one of the flagship project in Nakuru County by the Jubilee government which commenced in April 2016."Once completed in 2021 it will benefit over 800,000 residents of Kuresoi, Molo, Njoro, Rongai and Nakuru Town with clean and reliable piped water," said Kinyanjui who was flanked by several county leaders."Currently the project is at 17 per cent completion and has already benefited the residents of Kuresoi through murruming of the main road and employment opportunities even though more is required through mutual understanding with the contractor to ensure more employment opportunities."Further to the above the governor said Kuresoi North will benefit through CSR; tarmacking of the 35 km of road and a total sum of Sh100 million to be used to projects identified by the community. "On the issue of compensation to the displaced residents, that is a conversation that will commence very soon and it will involve all stakeholders to identify genuine residents to be compensated," said Governor Lee.
