Governor Lee Kinyanjui is having pressure from various stakeholders to name his Cabinet executives.
Stakeholders who are political players and loyalists have sent a warning to the governor against ignoring affirmative action and youth as per the Kenyan constitution.
Governor Kinyanjui is alleged to have violated the provision in the County Government Act on submission of the list of appointees to the County Assembly for vetting.
According to Section 42 (2) (2) of the County Government Act, the constitution of a new executive committee after an election under subsection (1) shall be finalised within 21 days of the swearing-in of the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs). The MCAs were sworn-in on September 7.
Governor Kinyajui has said that he will unveil his line-up on October 2.This is likely to cause uproar at the assembly if it will go past the legal period.
Kinyanjui is expected to do a delicate balancing act to please all players Nakuru being a cosmopolitan county.
