Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has been called upon to revive pyrethrum farming in Kuresoi North.
The farmers from the region have appealed to the county boss to support them as he promised during the last general election because the sector was their main source of income before collapsing.
Speaking in Githiriga, Kuresoi North Farmers Association (KNFA) chairman Henry Maiywa said that pyrethrum will uplift the region's economy once the industry is revived.
"We urge Kinuthia to deliver his 2013 promise of reviving the pyrethrum sector when he was here seeking votes. Pyrethrum used to help thousands of people here. KInuthia should come on board and support us," said Maiywa.
According to the farmers, they are ready to invest in the sector and Mbugua should help them find a market for their produce.
"Farmers here have got idle lands and once the government comes on board, they will invest invest in the sector," he added.
