A Nakuru granny is expected to take plea in Nakuru law court over a murder incident.
The 70-year old woman appeared on Wednesday in court after she was arrested in connection with the death of her neighbour.
She is accused of killing her neighbour in Gilgil on 8th May 2018.
Mary Nyaguthii however did not plead to the charges after the police filed an application to hold her for three more days to allow completion of investigations.
Nakuru resident magistrate directed the accused to be held at Elementaita Police Station.
She is accused of murdering Loise Njeri at Kanorero village in Gilgil under unclear circumstances.
According to a witness, the deceased had gone to fetch water from Nyaguthii’s water tank as has been the norm with many villagers in the neighbourhood.
John Ngige, the deceased’s father-in-law said the suspect was a generous woman who assisted locals with clean water and was surprised when he received the news on the killing.
Mary was arrested immediately after residents called the police who took her to Elementaita Police Station.
The body of the deceased was taken to Nakuru Level 5 mortuary.
