A Nakuru grave digger, Joseph Waweru, was on Monday fined Ksh 40,000 by a Nakuru court after he failed to offer his services. Waweru was accused of obtaining KSh 15,000 from Jane Nyambura who had lost her daughter and was seeking for services of an experienced grave digger to prepare burial place for her girl.After receiving the money, the self-proclaimed grave digger is said to have not done his job and went missing. According to Nyambura, she was to pay the accused a total amount of Ksh 30, 000 once the job was complete.The plaintiff told Nakuru court that she paid Waweru KSh 15,000 on October 26, 2017 after which the accused went missing and switched off his phone forcing her to look for another grave digger. In his defence, the accused told the magistrate that he had used part of the money to buy equipment he would use and the other part he took his mother to hospital whom he claimed was sick. The Principal Magistrate found the accused guilty as charged.
