Nakuru Stakeholders Forum chairman Wycliffe Ageso Oguda, has said they will be seeking a court order in a weeks’ time, to compel CORD top leadership led by Raila Odinga to tell Kenyans the truth about an account that was opened on September 22, 2015 in solidarity with the teachers who were on strike.
Speaking to this writer by phone on Thursday, Mr Oguda said: “Kenyans have the right to know how the account was opened, who were the signatories, the bank that the money was deposited, and how much was contributed by Kenyans”.
“We are preparing to go to court any day from tomorrow (Friday) probably next week. Raila Odinga led his co-principals to open the account, and we want to seek a court order that will compel him (Odinga) to tell Kenyans the truth about the solidarity account,” Oguda added.
“We want evidence to whether the money was handed to the teachers, or it was drained in their pockets” he insisted.
Oduda who represents 43 members of the Forum, said it is in the public domain that the account was opened, and not less than Ksh. 100,000 contributed.
“Nobody knows the truth about that money. We are law abiding citizens, and we have the right to know where the money is. Before you (Raila) talk of Eurobond and NYS scandals, please tell us about the account ” he said.
There was drama that Wednesday when the opposition MPs wore school uniforms during a rally at Uhuru Park, in solidarity with teachers who were on strike demanding salary increases. The account pay bill number announced was 672 672
