A newly established health centre in Nakuru town has benefitted from a Sh200 million worth of health equipment to boost health and medical services.
Menengai Health Centre situated in Nakuru East constituency within Nakuru town, will be provided with laboratory kits, X-ray machines, dental chairs, beds and fridges among other hospital equipment from a donation from Hope International.
Speaking in Nakuru during the occasion, the centre’s chief medical officer Joseph Kiuna said the donation was coordinated by the County Council of Nakuru, to equip the new health centre towards improving and expanding health services in the region.
"This donation will save the county and the central government on resource allocations and serve other health centres in the county and the country. We hope for more donations from other organisations to help improve health sector,’’ said Kiuna.
The donation will give the area a much needed boost in health matters, with recent reports indicating tha many wards lack enough health personnel and modern equipment.
