A group of IDPs in Nakuru have asked the State to beef up security ahead of the election scheduled for Thursday October 26.
The IDPs, speaking on Tuesday, said volatile areas should be given enough officers to maintain law and order.
Led by Lucy Njeri, the IDPs said political violence leaves pain memories and should not be allowed to happen again.
“What we experienced 10 years ago should not happen again. The government should protect citizens in volatile regions where violence is likely to occur," Njeri said.
Daniel Maina urged IEBC to ensure it conducts the poll credibly to ensure there is no political crisis in the country.
IDP forest coordinator Paul Mosipei said NASA leader Raila Odinga should stop poll boycott threats.
Mospei said the push for 'no reforms no elections' by NASA will trigger violence.
