The nominations will be held on April 21.

Multiple interviews with aspirants revealed fears that a senatorial candidate who is running a well-oiled campaign is well connected within the party structures and there are plans to rig the exercise.

“These people are plotting to rig this thing (nominations). We know their evil plans all the way from the time they did put their own people in the elections board,” an aspirant who preferred anonymity said.

Questions are also being raised over the involvement of a Nakuru-based wealthy businessman into the affairs of Jubilee and specifically the nominations.

“Why is this man wielding so much power within this party yet it is known he is taking sides in the nomination?” our source said.

Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and gubernatorial aspirant Lee Kinyajui have been public claiming there might be no free, fair and transparent nominations in Nakuru.
