Nakuru County Jubilee Party members have differed on the list of proposed nominees.
On Friday, a joint consultative meeting of Jubilee party stakeholders majorly losers in the April party primaries held a meeting at the Jubilee offices in Nakuru and unanimously agreed to submit their own list of proposed nominees to the county assembly of Nakuru.
However, the lengthy meeting that was skipped by all National assembly nominees except Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) was also attended by Jubilee gubernatorial candidate Lee Kinyanjui.
The leaders raised concerns over a list submitted to the party headquarters 'without consultations'.
A spot check on the said list that was submitted raising uproar was signed by Senatorial nominee Susan Kihika, MPs David Gikaria - Nakuru town east, Samuel Arama - Nakuru town west, Moses Cheboi - Kuresoi North, Joseph Tonui - nominee for Kuresoi South, Jayne Kihara - nominee for Naivasha, Kimani Kuria - Molo, Charity Kathambi -nominee for Njoro, Samuel Gachobe - nominee for Subukia, Kibet Komen - nominee for Rongai and Liza Chelule - nominee for Woman Representative.
According to sources, nominee for Gilgil constituency Martha Wangari, Kimani Ngunjiri and Lee Kinyanjui refused to sign the list citing irregularities ranging from favoritism, corruption and nepotism.
Addressing media, Kinyanjui said that most of the submitted names were of people who used money influence while others are girl friends to powerful people within the county government of Nakuru.
The Nakuru Jubilee gubernatorial candidate termed the list as being far from the the truth and vowed to submit a new list that will contain names agreed after the consultative meeting in which each ward will be required to produce one name with further considerations to arrive at a final list.
“Most of the submitted names were of people who used money influence while others are girl friends to powerful people within the county government of Nakuru we cannot operate that way,” said Kinyanjui.
On his part, Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri said that should the Jubilee national office submit to the IEBC the list submitted without approval from all the nominees, it would cause divisions within the party in Nakuru County and affect the party following.
The legislator said it was clear that relatives of sitting MPs and serving county government officials were included in the list thus shortchanging loyal party members who even after losing in the primaries did a lot to ensure the party remains relevant.
“How can we put our relatives as nominees yet we have some loyal party members left out? Kimani said.
