The Nakuru Kanu branch officials have accused the opposition of hypocrisy in their campaign on the fight against corruption.

The officials said the opposition led by Cord principal Raila Odinga have shown double standards in their quest saying they were only castigating officers in government.

Speaking to the press in their Kanu House office on Wednesday led by chairman John Ngunjiri, the officials said some opposition leaders have been implicated in graft, but they have remained silent.

“It is bad to see the opposition only barking and targeting government officials implicated in graft and when opposition leaders are implicated, they go silent and assume all is right,” Ngunjiri said.

He said that Cord luminaries forced former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru out of office but have not condemned Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula for alleged bribery claims.

“We have to be patriotic and be sober on the corruption debate and do it openly and genuinely. Let us not sanitise some people and make others look corrupt and evil,” Ngunjiri said.
