Police in-charge of the Police Post Mercy Musyoka said on Friday that the accused person James Murithi was intoxicated when he broke the wooden door of one of his tenants, Jacob Osiro at around one o’clock on Thursday night before assaulting him with a crude weapon.

Officer Musyoka said that the landlord who had gone to the compound after a drinking spree accused his tenant of playing a mouse and cat games with him while evading paying rent.

She said that the cruel landlord also destroyed and confiscated some of the complainant’s personal property including a mobile phone and a digital decoder before locking him together with his wife and mother of one year old child out in the cold.

“The complainant and his wife came to report the incident the same night before we went to arrest the suspect.

We found him still ransacking the tenant’s house in a drunken stupor while brandishing a homemade sword which he had used to attack the complainant,’’ said Musyoka.

Officer Musyioka said that the landlord will be charged in Court Monday 4 this month adding that there is enough evidence to be used against him.
