Bahati Constituency MP Kimani Ngunjiri has urged Nakuru County leaders and politicians to put aside their differences and work for the people.
MP Ngunjiri who spoke when he toured the constituency on Saturday said that the wrangles being witnessed at the County Assembly will delay development of the region.
He said that though politicians have different interests and ideologies, they must learn on how to work together.
“Nakuru politicians should put aside their interests and concentrate on working for the people that elected them,” said Ngunjiri.
Ngunjiri noted that time has come for elected leaders to focus on development and stop side shows. He stated that side shows will not address the many problems that are facing Nakuru people.
Ngunjiri urged Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to take charge and unite county leaders for the sake of the county’s development.
He said that Governor Mbugua has a responsibility to bring together and guide all leaders and residents to the right direction to ensure the county prospers accordingly.
Meanwhile, Ngunjiri wants the government to take action against leaders who have been named in corruption scandals.
He said that corruption remains a big challenge to development and called on the government to curb it once and for all.
“Corruption remains a challenge and the government must act immediately and recover money that has been embezzled,” said Ngunjiri.
