Nakuru County MCAs have vowed to work closely with the governor to ensure the clinic serves members of the public well.

Speaking today, Nakuru County Assembly Speaker, Susan Kihiga said enough money should be allocated to those in need of medical attention especially expectant mothers and HIV victims.

Kihiga said that for the work started by the first lady in the county to bear fruits, the county assembly will cooperate with the office of Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to ensure the project to take care of the HIV victims succeeds.

Kihiga said the county assembly is working on coming up with laws that will address gender and children health.

The county speaker urged members of the public to turn up in large numbers during public participations to air their views.

"We are currently working on Nakuru County Maternity New Born Child Health bill 2014 and also the Nakuru County Gender Equality and Women bill 2014 which are both in the first reading," said Kihiga.

Distribution of mobile clinics across all the 47 counties is an initiative orchestrated by the first lady under the Beyond Zero campaign whose main objective is to bring both postnatal and prenatal medical care to children and women in Kenya.

This new initiative aims to speed up the enactment of the countrywide plan towards eliminating new HIV infections amongst children.

The campaign has so far received donations of mobile clinics to serve women in rural parts of the country.
