A section of Nakuru County leaders have rubbished the call by some MCAs to have the Nakuru County government dissolved, following an endless power struggle over the position of Majority Leader in Nakuru County Assembly.
Led by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, the leaders have said that the problems facing the assembly and the whole government do not warrant the dissolution of the government.
“The speaker has to assert her authority over the house. She has to do her work and did nothing wrong in reading the order", said Kimani in reference to the court order that reinstated Waithuke Njane as Majority Leader last week.
Waithuke on his part has said that once a person is defeated, they should accept and move on.
“There are people who were born just like you. It is good when you get defeated accept it. It is only a fool's case that never ends,” said Waithuke.
Defending her stand, Speaker Susan Kihika said she will continue doing her work in accordance with the law.
“Nobody will sway me. For now, they will have to accept that I am the Speaker and the assembly will not be dissolved over small differences,” said Kihika.
They were speaking on Sunday in a public rally in Bahati.
