Nakuru county has been reported to be leading in police trauma cases.

Speaking in Nakuru during National Police service health workshop,Dr.Kibosia said that most cases road accidents in the county have attributed to the traumatising cases among officers.

Kibosia who is the head of police medical service has disclosed that National Police Service will be setting up counselling facilities across the country .He said that this will see police officers who handle traumatising cases benefit with counselling services.

He disclosed that most the officers face a lot of psychological torture in their line of duty and there is need to introduce counselling services.

He also noted that the traumatising cases have also been fatal as some officers engage in family fights and suicide. “If the trauma is not contained in a proper way, the subjects tend to clog their minds by engaging in inhumane acts like suicide, drug abuse and family struggles,” he said.

NPS intiative is aimed at providing a good working and condusive environment  for security officers. The security agents will also be trained on how to handle accidents.The workshop session was attended by more than 150 police officers who narrated their traumatic ordeals during their line of duty.
