The test of love is one that many people would not hold on to for a very long time, but for Daniel Mburu, he has done the unthinkable.
He has been taking care of his ailing wife Grace Muthoni Mburu whose diabetic condition has taken a toll on her health and her husband’s emotional wellbeing.
Mburu, who lives in Njoro in an interview on Thursday, said that he has been through the roughest stretch of his life trying to cope with his wife’s illness.
“We have been married for two years and she got pregnant last year and at the fifth month, she developed complications forcing doctors to abort her so that they can handle her diabetic condition. It is after then that her health deteriorated and she has been confined to the house and cannot do anything for herself and I actually feed her through a tube because she cannot eat,” he said.
Mburu, who was working as a cook at a local secondary school was forced to quit his job to take care of his ailing wife.
He also sold a tailoring business which he had secured for Muthoni to raise money for her medication and has also held two fundraisers.
In a week, he uses sh10, 000 on medical expenses.
He is now appealing to well wishers to help him pay for specialized treatment for his wife at Kijabe hospital.
Well-wishers can send their donation through Grace Muthoni medical Fund paybill number 922565 A/c number 0130190529117 or Equity Bank Nakuru branch A/C No- 0130190529117.
