Police have launched investigations following an incident where a 30-year-old man committed suicide after killing his wife at Mang’u village, Rongai in Nakuru.

According to police, John Munana’s body was found in a septic tank moments after neighbors discovered his wife’s body in their house bearing head injuries.

Confirming the incident, Rongai OCPD Joseph Kioko said a caretaker from a neighboring home alerted the area chief his neighbours had not been seen. 

The body of the woman was found in the house. 

Bodies of the two were moved to Nakuru county government mortuary.

In another incident, in Miti mingi village - Gilgil constituency - a middle aged man caused shock after he attempted to commit suicide using a metal grinder.

According to neighbors, the man emerged from a metal workshop on Tuesday morning, took a metal grinder, switched it on and turned it to himself before locals intervened.

It was not immediately clear why he attempted to commit suicide.

The man was rushed to Nakuru level five hospital for treatment.
