A middle-aged man was killed in Baringo county for alkegedly singing an initiation song at a market area.
This is said to have irked other men as it is a taboo in the Tugen community.
The deceased, Samson Kipkemoi Kesses, 25, who hails from Nakuru was found dead on Sunday (December 17) at an initiation camp in Nyalilkiruk village.
Sources said the deceased consumed one too much and decided to entertain passersby at Nyalilikuruk centre where he went overboard and sang a song only meant for an initiation camp.
It is at that moment that a group of men pounced at him and frogmarched him to the initiation camp where discipline was meted.
“We found the body of the deceased with bruises all over and it is alleged that this incident happened because he had sang initiation songs only meant to be sang at initiation camps,” said a police officer.
The deceased was found dead at the camp where he lay half-naked with his hands tied together.
Police are looking for suspects.
