A man was arraigned before a Nakuru court on Thursday to answer charges of stealing corrugated iron sheets.

James Wamwere was accused of stealing 20 iron sheets valued at Sh12,000 from Susan Kagia on September 9 at Barnabas Estate within Nakuru County.

Wamwere is a said to have been building a house inside at Kagia's homestead. According to the prosecution, he, alongside other construction workers at that time stole the iron sheets that they were to use in roofing the house.

Apearing before Chief Magistrate Joel Ng'eno, he pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Sh2000.

Wamwere told the court that the caretaker of the compound who borrowed his motorbike during that day, should be investigated in relation to the incident

Ng'eno however, urged the two to settle the matter out of court.

The case will he heard on October 19.
