Lake View Ward MCA Jonathan Warothe has asked Nakuru County Government to revive area stalled projects to boost economic development.
Speaking in Naivasha town on Monday, Warothe said that reviving such companies will provide a new road map for development.
The MCA pointed out Pan African Vegetable Limited Company in Naivasha that stalled two decades ago, stating that reviving it will help to create employment opportunities.
“To fight unemployment and poverty the county government must revive stalled companies,” said Warothe.
Warothe said that most companies stalled because of poor management and misappropriation of funds.
He also urged the Nakuru government to initiate more development projects in Naivasha.
Warothe observed that the sub county needs more projects for it to boost economic development.
Meanwhile, the MCA has urged youths in the ward to shun criminal activities and work with their leaders to spearhead development.
Warothe warned that crime will not add value to youths who involve themselves in it.
He said that though unemployment is the main reason to why youths are being lured to crime, it will not benefit them.
“Crime will never solve your problems, instead take advantage of the opportunities offered to you by the county government,” said Warothe.
