A Nakuru Member of County Assembly has urged the media fraternity to be accurate in reporting news in order to avoid conflicting information which may mislead citizens.
Elburgon MCA Florence Wambui Njoroge has stated that it is sad when the media decides to report on development issues in wards without getting all the facts right.
She was responding to media reports indicating that boda boda operators in the area had demonstrated on Friday demanding accountability from area leaders including the MCA.
However, Wambui stated that the reports which circulated in some of the media outlets including social sites were not factual.
"I want the media to get their facts right, that Friday's demonstrations in Elburgon were by people from Marioshoni ward and not my ward. The Marioshoni residents were demanding to address the media and they came all the way to Elburgon ward where we share the same Division hence had to be addressed," said Wambui.
Wambui added that media should engage all parties before highlighting stories that might cause tension among residents in various wards of Nakuru.
The representative was speaking during a phone interview with this writer.
