A Nakuru MCA has said lack of a substantive revenue officer in Nakuru County has hindered revenue collection.

Symon Mwangi, Menengai West MCA said the county should consider appointing the officer as per the county laws to help boost revenue collection.

"Revenue collection in the county has declined due to of supervision. Finance executive should move with speed and appoint the officer to boost revenue collection as required by the law,” he said.

Mwangi who is also the finance committee chairman operations at the county may be crippled if enough revenue will not be collected on a daily basis.

"The County depends on revenue collected from especially traders. If collection will not improve service delivery at the county are likely to face hurdles,” he added.
