A nominated MCA in the Nakuru County Assembly has blamed fellow MCAs over failure to pass crucial bills concerning the voice of common citizens.
Speaking to the media on Friday morning, nominated MCA Margaret Wanjiku Kiiru blamed her fellow MCAs for failing to pass 'mwananchi-friendly' bills.
"It is saddening that most of us are elected, we receive salaries plus allowances but when it comes to matters of legislation, we fail to perform. I will not sit down and watch as leaders fail to perform their functions and then they start blame game,"she said.
The nominated MCA called on her fellow MCAs to know that they were elected to serve the mwananchi at the county assembly and therefore they should ensure they shun blame game and work to pass the required legislation to ensure service delivery.
"In order for a devolved government to take charge of the counties we need to make lawas through the county assembly, but we cannot do that when the MCAs are sleeping,"she said.
Her sentiments come just some days after another MCA raised issues concerning the House Business committees.
