A recent report by controller of budget has listed Nakuru county as the county which spent the least on MCA's sitting allowances in the 2015/16 financial year.

The report shows that the Nakuru county spent Sh50.13 million on sitting allowances, paid to the 74 MCAs and the Speaker, against an annual budget of Sh110 million in the first nine months of the 2015/2016 financial year.

On average, the monthly sitting allowance per MCA in the county was Sh74,267 compared to sh 124,800 recommended by the Salary and Remuneration Commission Of the 47 counties, Nakuru County was the lowest consumers of the sitting allowances for MCAs in the period under review.
