The motorist urged Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to get rid of them citing that Nairobi’s traffic jam has eased since Governor Evans Kidero phased the roundabouts out this week.

“Getting into town especially from the Nakuru-Nairobi highway is a nightmare on the roundabout. Many accidents occur there and we do not have traffic officers manning the area. We are appealing to the county to look for better ways of ensuring that the traffic flows around,” said Stephen Mwangi.

Joyce Mukami cited that many accidents occurred on the roundabouts as trailers try to maneuver their way from town.

“On many occasions we have our vehicles knocked on the sides by the trailers which are too long,” she said.

“They should get their own pathway,” she added.

“If it has been proven that traffic can flow better without them we are requesting that they be abolished. In fact they do not add value to the Nakuru residents and they confuse pedestrians who want to cross the road,” said Benard Gitau.
