Nakuru County Woman Representative Liza Chelule has called on parents to ensure that their children who are undergoing circumcision during this season are under trustworthy initiators.
Speaking to the press in Nakuru following an incident in which a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death after attending a circumcision ceremony, Chelule said parents should now be careful on those who take care of their children during the initiation ceremony.
“I want to appeal on parents to ensure that their children, who are undergoing circumcision during this season, are in the hands of trustworthy people,” she said.
The County Woman MP added that the vice has taken root in the society over the years with incidents happening where boys lose lives during initiation.
