Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament David Gikaria shall wait further to know his fate as the defense counsel sought an adjournment of his case.
Lawyer Gordon Ogolla told the court that his client is sick and seeking medication.
“We understand that this case has come for hearing today but my client who is the first witness is sick. We kindly ask thios court to grant us another date to enable him recover to come and testify,” Ogolla said when he appeared before the Chief Magistrate, Josphat Burudi.
Gikaria is facing charges of theft and malicious destruction of property belonging to ENSE Company amounting to Ksh 7 million.
The items the MP allegedly stole are 300 wheelbarows, PVC pipes and destruction of a perimeter wall around a 10 acre piece of land situated at Naka, within his constituency.
The hearing was slated for May 17.
