Police have launched investigation into an incident in which a four year old boy was on Monday murdered by a 15 year old Form one student in what is said to be a disagreement over sugarcane in Kwa Amos village Bahati, Nakuru county.
The suspect, Peter Mbugua has since reported to Bahati Divisional police for interrogations, with the OCPD Edward Masibo confirming that thorough investigations were being carried out.
“We have already launched investigation into the matter and i can confirm that the suspect has availed himself to the police. We are also keenly monitoring another boy who was injured in the incident," he said.
The police boss said that Mbugua used a kitchen knife to kill the 4 year old boy whereby he slit his neck before burying covering his body with dry leaves.
He said that the suspect was still under police custody in Bahati and will be arraigned in court on Tuesday (today) to face murder charges.
"We have the suspect in our custody and hopefully by tomorrow he will be arraigned in court. The incident was rather unfortunate. As police, we are determined to know exactly what transpired," he said
