A section of Nakuru legislators led by ODM rebel Samuel Arama (Nakuru Town West) Kimani Ngunjiri (Bahati) and David Gikaria (Nakuru Town East) have warned people planning to hold anti-IEBC demos that they shall be contained by area residents.
Speaking from Nakuru, Mr Arama called upon the police to allow Nakuru residents to deal with the demonstrators in their own way.
“We do not want police to intervene. We will lead the residents in dispersing them. We cannot allow anarchy in our town,” Arama said.
The leaders also reiterated the need for Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery to ensure a court order banning demonstrations by Cord followers is effected accordingly.
Airing sentiments previously expressed in the same quarters, the legislators threatened to impeach Nkaissery should he fail to effect court orders barring the anti-IEBC demonstrations.
Nakuru East Member of Parliament David Gikaria said that he will personally sponsor a motion in Parliament to remove Nkaissery from office should the planned demonstrations take place.
