Peter Ongeri Omenda, 40, died while receiving specialised treatment at KNH Wednesday morning after he was referred by doctors from Valley Hospital, Nakuru where he was admitted shortly after the accident.

His nephew, Dennis Omindo, when contacted on the phone, said he last saw his uncle on his hospital bed and was making efforts to talk.

“I last saw him on his hospital bed and he was trying to talk to us and hours later, he passed on. We actually spent several hours with him,” said Omindo.

He, however, could not divulge any information if at all Kenya Power has offered any assistance to the family or not.

Kenya Power had not shed more light on compensation to the family by the time of publishing this story.

The Thursday service will be held from 7pm at Bedi Factory which is near the scene of the accident.

He was electrocuted on Sunday after a miscommunication which led to switching on of power while they were doing repairs on a power line located near Bedi Factory.

He suffered over 50 per cent burns according to doctors at Valley Hospital.

Flamingo ward MCA Moses Gichangi has offered 200 candles which will be lit to honour the late Omenda.

He is survived by a wife and six children.
