The Nakuru Level 5 Hospital will soon get an ultra-modern one-stop maternity ward.
According to the board chairman Samuel Githaiga, architectural designs for the new maternity wing are ready, and are waiting for funds from the county government to launch the project.
Githaiga added that the one-stop maternity wing will have a shopping complex for infant and women items, antenatal clinics, maternity wards, theaters, delivery rooms and baby clinics.
Speaking in Nakuru town, Githaiga said the modern facility will have modern and sophisticated equipment to be able to handle complex cases.
“We want to put up a one-stop maternity wing where mothers will be able to access everything under one roof without having to move from one block to another and we hope this project will be complete by 2020,” said the chairman.
“We already have the project design and engineers are ready to starts working anytime we are ready,” he added.
The estimated cost of the project is Sh600 million.
